Noah's trip to Oregon

This is Noah's first trip to Oregon to meet family. He did a great job on the flight, especially since we ran into storms on the way to Denver and ended having to sit on the plane an extra hour and then having to run to our connecting flight. I don't think he ever really cried on either flight. (Yay for you Noah!) Portland has been having record highs so the past few days have been in the 100's. Too hot. Because of this, we have spent plenty of time in the pool. Noah loves the water. Here are a few pictures of the trip so far...

Check up results

Noah had his 6 month check up yesterday. Here are his stats:

20 pounds
28.5 inches
97% for his age

At 4 months he was 16 pounds and only 25.5 inches. He obviously went through a good growth spurt adding 4 pounds and 3 inches in two months! His doctor said he was a very "tall boy" for his age. Wonder where he got that from?!

6 Month Pictures

We got Noah's 6 month pictures back today. Here are a few of our favorites. This time there was so much personality coming through! The one of him crying is due to the fact that he doesn't like grass.

Happy 6 Months

Dear Noah,
Today you are 6 months old. Someone once told me that life would go so much faster after I had a child. And they were so right. Each day, week, and month flies by with so many memories. I can hardly believe you are already 6 months old.
Right now you are still experimenting with foods. You love carrots, tolerate squash, and inhale cereal. You don't like the sippy cup, but love to drink from mommy and daddy's cups. You are such a big boy. You roll around a lot and have begun sitting up on your own. And you still love to jump.
Many firsts have happened this month. You took a plane to New Jersey and a train to New York. You have been on a swing and gone swimming. At your pictures, we discovered that you don't like grass. We sat you in it and you would put your hand down and start screaming. Since then I have tried to get you to touch grass and you will not have it.
Noah, you are one of the most happy babies I know. You smile and giggle all the time. It just warms our hearts. Your daddy and I love you so much and are so proud of you.

Love,

Mom

Noah goes to NYC

Dave and I took Noah to New York for the day. We took the train in and Noah really liked it. He had his own seat on one way and then he got to sit and look out the window on the other way.
Noah seemed to enjoy his time in New York. He loved looking at all the people and buildings. To our surprise he didn't cry at all, and it was a very long day. He actually took a nap while we were eating lunch. I am still not sure how he slept through the noise of New York. I had forgotten what a great city NYC is and am so glad that Noah was able to experience it!

Visit to New Jersey

Noah had his first plane ride this week. We flew to New Jersey to visit his Aunt Chrystal, Uncle Greg, and cousins Carson and Lauren. To my surprise, he did great on both flights there. This week so far Noah has had a lot of fun with his cousins. Carson makes him laugh a lot and they love to play together. I think they have become good buddies.

Sitting Up and Rolling!

It occurred to me the other day as I watched Noah roll over and grab his favorite stuffed monkey on the changing table that he can, indeed, roll both ways. He is just lazy. Early on he mastered the stomach to back to advoid tummy time. I have spent hours trying to get him to roll from his back to stomach, or at least roll over to grab a toy. I just didn't think he was interested in trying. Now I know he can, he just doesn't want to.

And, this morning as we were watching Baby Einstein, I sat Noah on the ground, and he sat up for almost two minutes all by himself. He gets so excited that he is sitting up, that he just starts giggling and then falls over. I think it won't be long before he will be sitting up on his own all the time!

Noah's First Vegetable

Noah had his first taste of a vegetable. We decided on squash since it doesn't have much of a taste. That may have been the problem. At first he liked it, eating about three spoon fulls. Then, I think he realized it wasn't his usual oatmeal, and he no longer would eat it! So, we will just have to keep trying.

Water Baby

While at a friends house for the 4th of July, we decided to take Noah swimming. He really likes the water as long as we slowly put him in. He has figured out how to paddle and kick and of course, splash. Dad tried to put him under the water, but Noah was not a fan. After a long hard swim, he just wanted to lay on the float and get some sun!
